Iraq company search, check & credit report

Verify any registered Iraqi company — investigated in-country and delivered in English.

Iraq is a significant oil exporter and a substantial reconstruction market across infrastructure, power, telecommunications and consumer goods, with separate corporate regimes in federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Companies register with the Companies Registrar at the Ministry of Trade in Baghdad, or with the Kurdistan Region Companies Registry in Erbil. The market carries materially higher counterparty risk than its GCC neighbours, and an investigated report is essential rather than optional for almost any meaningful commercial relationship.

What our Iraq company report includes

Our Iraq reports are researched from sources including the Ministry of Trade Companies Registrar (or KRG Companies Registry, as applicable), the General Commission for Taxes, the relevant Chamber of Commerce, sectoral regulators and the courts; fees may apply for certain records. Coverage of any individual source depends on what the subject company has filed and what is publicly accessible at the time of the search. Arabic and Kurdish filings are translated and presented in clear English.

Note on Iraqi data: Iraq operates two parallel corporate jurisdictions, federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, with separate registries, separate tax authorities and meaningfully different operating environments. Confirming which jurisdiction the contracting entity is registered in is fundamental.

Why verify an Iraqi company?

Iraq is one of the most challenging counterparty-verification markets in the region, and also one of the most commercially significant, particularly in oil and gas, power generation, infrastructure reconstruction and consumer goods importation. The market combines genuine large-scale opportunity with elevated risk across sanctions, political-affiliation, fraud and security dimensions, and an investigated report is the minimum standard for any meaningful contract.

The most fundamental issue is jurisdictional. Federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region operate parallel corporate frameworks, parallel tax authorities and parallel court systems, and the practical realities of contracting in each are substantially different. A company registered in Erbil under the KRG framework may have limited standing in Baghdad and vice versa. The first question for any Iraq verification is which jurisdiction the contracting entity is actually registered under, and what its standing is in each.

Iraq's sanctions environment is unusually complex. The country has been subject to multiple overlapping international sanctions regimes, and a number of Iraqi companies and individuals are listed under OFAC, EU and UN sanctions. Political affiliations, particularly with militia-linked entities, can also affect a counterparty's legal standing under US Specially Designated Global Terrorist designations.

Beyond sanctions, the practical commercial risks (fraud, capacity overstatement, security exposure on physical operations, foreign-exchange constraints, and inconsistent enforcement of judgements) all argue for an investigated report rather than reliance on any single data source. For oil services, infrastructure, power, trading or any meaningful contract with an Iraqi counterparty, our report combines the available register data with on-the-ground enquiry and the screening overlay that the Iraq market specifically requires.
