Egypt company search, check & credit report

Verify any registered Egyptian company — investigated in-country and delivered in English.

Egypt is the largest economy in North Africa and a strategic gateway between Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Companies are registered through the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the commercial registry, but ownership chains, currency controls and the size of the informal economy mean filed paperwork rarely tells the whole story. A fresh investigation closes that gap.

What our Egypt company report includes

Our Egypt reports are researched directly from sources including the Egyptian Commercial Registry, GAFI records, the Tax Authority, the Investors Service Centre and local court filings, with on-the-ground enquiry to confirm trading status; fees may apply for certain records. Depth of any given section reflects what the subject company has filed and what is publicly retrievable at the time of the search. We translate from Arabic and present everything in clear English.

Why verify an Egyptian company?

Egypt's economy has been through one of the most turbulent decades of any major emerging market: multiple devaluations of the pound, hard-currency shortages, capital controls and IMF-led restructuring. For an overseas counterparty, the practical effect is that an Egyptian company that looked solid on paper two or three years ago may be operating in a very different financial reality today. Filed accounts in EGP need careful interpretation, and a current investigation is worth far more than a historic file.

The most common verification issues we can see in Egypt fall into a few categories. The first is currency exposure: a company with strong domestic turnover but limited hard-currency receivables, which can struggle to pay foreign suppliers when the official rate diverges from the parallel rate. The second is licence scope: a trading company contracting for activities outside its registered commercial scope, which is a recurring problem with import/export and regulated sectors. The third is the gap between the Commercial Register and the Tax Authority: a company can be technically registered without being tax-compliant, and that mismatch is a useful early warning.

Free zone entities deserve particular attention. Egypt operates extensive free zones, including Suez Canal Economic Zone companies, with their own registration regime under GAFI. Free zone companies enjoy tax and customs benefits but are restricted in what they can sell into the domestic Egyptian market. Our reports can confirm the zone, the licence type and what the company is actually permitted to do.

For supplier checks, large trade credit, agency appointments, joint ventures or any payment in advance, an investigated Egypt report is the standard tool. It is faster and substantially cheaper than commissioning bespoke legal due diligence, and gives you the same evidential basis to make a decision.
