Note on Albanian data: Albania's QKB register is one of the more modern in the Western Balkans, with online access to basic corporate data. Beneficial ownership disclosure has improved since the 2020 reforms but remains uneven for older registrations.
Why verify an Albanian company?
Albania has emerged as a low-cost near-sourcing destination for European buyers, particularly in light manufacturing and services. The QKB register is reasonably reliable for basic verification, but the size of the informal economy means that confirming active trading status, premises and beneficial ownership through direct enquiry adds meaningful value. PEP and political-affiliation screening is also worth doing given the relatively concentrated nature of the Albanian business community.
For supplier qualification, distribution agreements or trade credit with an Albanian counterparty, an investigated report combines the register data with the on-the-ground confirmation that overseas buyers typically need.
